Hot and Sour Fish | Ikan Asam Pedas


Ingredients :

  • 500 g tuna fish, clean and drain
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 500 ml water
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 1/2 tbsp lime juice
  • 2 kaffir lime leaves
  • 5 capsicums
  • 1 stalk lemon grass, bruised
  • 1 tbsp sliced garlic
  • 2 tbsp sliced shallots
  • 1 tsp sliced ginger
  • 1 tsp sliced galangal
  • 1 tbsp sliced turmeric
  • 2 tbsp sliced red chilies
  • 1 tsp salt

How To Make :

  1. Blend garlic, shallots, ginger, galangal, turmeric, chilies, and salt into a paste.
  2. Put oil in a pan, saute the paste over medium heat. Add kaffir lime leaves, capsicums, and lemon grass, stir until fragrant.
  3. Pour water into the pan and season with lime juice and fish sauce.
  4. Add the fish and continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and serve with rice.
